Financial Aid

There are very few, if any, investments in life as important as that of a college education. Our desire is to provide access and choice to students, who without such assistance would not be able to attend an institution of higher learning.

Filling out and submitting the FAFSA form is the first step in the financial aid process. You use it to apply for federal student financial aid, such as grants, loans and work-study. In addition, Georgia and Brewton-Parker College use this information to award state and institutional aid.

FINANCIAL AID DOCUMENTS
Documents needed to complete your Financial Aid are listed on yours awards letter. Scholarships, grants, and loans that require documentation will not post to your student account if these documents are not received by the Financial Aid office.
Missing Information letters will also be sent out each month to students who have not turned in the required documentation.

(Example: The Georgia Tuition Equalization Grant requires a GSF app to be completed online at www.gacollege411. If this document has not been received by the end of Fall semester, 12/18, the student will not be eligible for this grant for Fall semester. The award will be removed from the student’s account and the student will be responsible for paying the amount of the GTEG award to the college.)

HOPE/GTEG increases for 2008-2009
The HOPE Scholarship will increase to $3500/year for fulltime students; $875 for part-time; no less than 6 hours.
The Georgia Tuition Equalization Grant (GTEG) will increase to $1200/year for fulltime students; GTEG is not available for part-time students.

FINANCIAL AID POLICY

Documents required for VERIFICATION must be turned in as soon as possible. This process determines the accuracy of the information that was submitted on your FAFSA using your income tax documentation. Incorrect data that is corrected during the verification process may affect the student’s Financial Aid award and the award may change.

Dates to Remember:
