Accounting major courses
BUS 301 Intermediate Accounting I (3 Hours)
Accounting theory and practice as applied to financial statements, disclosure, cash and receivables, inventories, property, plant and equipment, and intangible assets. Prerequisite: BUS 201.
BUS 302 Intermediate Accounting II (3 Hours)
Accounting theory and practice as applied to financial statements, disclosure, cash and receivables, inventories, property, plant and equipment, and intangible assets. Prerequisite: BUS 201.
BUS 303 Intermediate Accounting III (3 Hours)
In-depth coverage of intermediate accounting principles introduced in BUS 301 and 302, allowing students to gain a fuller understanding of complex topics. Prerequisites: BUS 301 and 302.
BUS 306 Accounting Information Systems (3 Hours)
Applications of accounting software including a commercial accounting package, small business package, fixed asset manager and cost manager. Prerequisite: BUS 202.
BUS 401 Auditing (3 Hours)
Auditing functions and practices, with an emphasis on professional responsibilities, audit applications, internal control, legal liability and audit reports. Prerequisite: BUS 301 or 302.
BUS 407 Nonprofit Accounting (3 Hours)
Accounting principles and practices as applied to state and local governments and nonprofit organizations. Prerequisite: BUS 201.
